Talk Your Way Out of Credit Card Debt!: Phone Calls to Banks That Saved More Than $43,000 in Interest Charges and Fees

Category : Credit Card Debt

Product DescriptionLearning how to talk your way out of credit card debt is the quickest, easiest, and most efficient way to start saving money! It’s true! You can call your credit card banks to negotiate a better interest rate and have fees waived! However, it may not be as easy as picking up the phone and asking. That’s because bank representatives are trained to deter you from pursuing the deals you deserve. Overcoming their tactics can be difficult when you don’t know what to expect. Scott Bilker, author of Talk Your Way Out of Credit Card Debt, and creator of DebtSmart. com, has spent 10+ years making banks compete for his business. Now, he’s sharing his personal phone calls to banks that saved more than $43,000 for himself, his family, and friends! These 52 phone calls, out of the hundreds he has made, demonstrate exactly what worked, what didn’t, and why. In each call transcript, for anonymity, banks have been renamed as dog breeds and their reps as bugs. :) In this book you will discover proven negotiation strategies, and build your confidence, while learning how to: (1) get annual fees waived; (2) lower your current interest rates; (3) shop for the best credit card deals; (4) get late-payment, overlimit, and cash-advance fees waived; (5) compare loan options and calculate savings; (6) dispute charges and get all your refunds; (7) negotiate account settlements; and much more!

My expectations were high as I have had incorrect charges and canceled downloads that Discover will dispute one month and put it back on the next
statement. This was not helpful for me. Kathy

I am sick and tired of all this marketing tricks. It is very clear that most of the reviews written about this book are actually written by people marktng this book under different account names. It is very clear that these reviews are sales pitches for the book.

I have read enough real reviews of products, and get my own products reviewed by many customers. These reviews are fake- in my opinion. And this is a clear sign that this book, it’s publishers, and author, are not honest people you should trust.

If you have any problems with what I wrote here, feel free to contact me.

Talk Your Way Out Of Credit Card Debt by money management expert Scott Bilker is a straightforward, “user friendly” guide to negotiating with credit card banks for better interest rates and getting fees waived. Offering tested strategies for the waiver of annual fees, late payment fees, cash-advance fees and more, shopping for the best credit card deals, comparing loan options, getting refunds, and more, Talk Your Way Out Of Credit Card Debt is very highly recommended reading. Bilker’s finance evaluation strategies are extremely useful, even to those who choose to carefully avoid getting into credit card debt in the first place!

This is my first review. But it was nice to find a self help book that actually helps. As the author says, it does take patience and persistence and (as with sales calls) not every call will succeed every time. However, the book does provide a blueprint anyone can follow.

First, I suggest doing the preparation work laid down in the book. This process will give you a roadmap to follow, the process will probably also open your eyes and gets you motivated to take action – tip: using Microsoft Excel helps.

Then, I found the phone calling scripts helpful in building confidence to make the calls and knowing just what to say. To my surprise, my first call went just as the book predicted and resulted in getting a 50% rate reduction. The experience was very empowering.

The book is an easy read and does not waste too much time telling why you are in trouble and why you need to get out of trouble. Instead, it gets you busy right away on the techniques you can use to take control of your debt.

Following certain chapters in this book, I was able to save my sister over $1500 in just a few hours. For anyone who is trying to raise their credit score, get a handle on their debt or better inform themselves about the world of credit.
